I’ve seen it all. I’ve seen perfect 500-piece orders of crimson polyester jerseys leave the dryer looking like a million bucks only to have the client call me forty-eight hours later. Because the crisp white logos I printed turned a sickly shade of bubblegum pink.

In the industry, we call this dye migration or “sublimation.” In my shop, I call it a profit-killer. (And Why Does It Hate You?)

Before we talk about the fix, we need to understand the enemy. Polyester isn’t like cotton. Cotton is a thirsty fiber; it drinks up the dye and holds onto it. Polyester is different. It’s basically plastic. The “dyes” used to color polyester are actually tiny particles of pigment suspended in the fiber.

When you run that red or navy polyester shirt through your conveyor dryer, something happens at around 300°F (150°C). The dyes in the fabric turn into a gas. This gas doesn’t just vanish into thin air; it hitches a ride right into your beautiful white plastisol ink.

If you’re using a standard حبر بلاستيسول أبيض, those gas molecules pass through the ink layer like a ghost through a wall. Here is how I set up my press for a 100% polyester run.

1. The Mesh Count Mystery

Don’t use a 230 mesh for your blocker. You need a thick enough “wall” to stop the dye. I usually stick to a 110 or 125 mesh for my grey blocker. For the top white, I might go up to a 156 but never higher. You want a thick ink deposit.

2. رقصة الممسحة

Use a 70/90/70 triple durometer squeegee. It gives you the power to press ink deep into the fabric, while also allowing you to control it precisely to create a smooth and even surface. Apply too much pressure, and the ink will bleed straight through the garment; apply too little, and the surface will take on a rough, “orange peel”-like texture.

3. The Temperature “Sweet Spot”

This is where most printers fail. You need to cure the ink, but you must not “over-cook” the shirt. If your dryer is set to 330°F, you are asking for trouble.
