Screen reclaiming is the process of preparing a used screen for a new coating and exposure cycle. It involves more than removing visible plastisol ink. Depending on the condition of the screen, the process may also involve emulsion removal, haze treatment and inspection of the mesh. This article focuses on screen restoration after plastisol printing. It does not cover removing a printed design from clothing. The main objective is to explain how ink removal, emulsion removal and haze control fit together when a screen is being returned to reusable condition. What Is Screen Reclaiming?
